PK’s plot is very similar to “Oh My God” released in 2012 starring Akshay Kumar & Paresh Rawal, but Rajkumar Hirani has taken it to next level. PK is a story of an Alien (Aamir Khan) known as PK on earth. PK lands in Rajasthan and losses his remote locket which is the only way to return to his planet. In the process of finding his locket, PK asks questions which are curious & innocent about complex spiritual ideologies of society, more on presence of God.
With his strange manners, PK makes friends like Jaggu (Anushka Sharma) a journalist & Bhairon Singh (Sanjay Dutt), a villager in Rajasthan. The movie portrays how Jaggu helps PK to get his remote from Tapasvi Maharaj (Saurabh Shukla), a white-robed Baba.
Aamir Khan as PK has given another brilliant performance and leads the movie exceptionally well. Anushka Sharma looks great and her chemistry with Aamir is pleasing. Saurabh Shukla as Tapasvi baba has given another notable performance. Sushant Rajput as Sharfaraz, a student from Pakistan and Anushka’s boyfriend is promising. Sanjay Dutt as Bhairon Singh and Boman Irani as TV Channel Head are entertaining. Parikshit Sahni as Anushka’s father has done well in his minimal appearances.
After 3 Idiots (2009), Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006) & Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003), PK is another master piece from Rajkumar Hirani. The storyline is engaging. Direction, dialogues and performances are flawless. Songs are pretty average, could have been much better.
The Bottom Line: Filled with surprises and humor, PK is an entertaining movie. Must Watch!
