Mardaani - Movie Review

Movie Review:

Rani Mukerji, featuring as Shivani Shivaji Roy, the Cop in Mumbai Crime Branch, is on a mission to find mastermind behind the child trafficking mafia after one of the teenage girl, Pyari who is like her daughter is kidnapped. Without knowing the name of the Kidnapper, Shivani challenges him to catch him in 30 days. Mardaani is all about a fight between fearless & clever cop and a ruthless child trafficking criminal.

Rani Mukerji in the lead role as Mardaani, is one the best performances in her acting portfolio, showcasing her immense versatile acting talent. Pradeep Sarkar the maker of Parineeta (2005), Laaga Chunari Mein Daag: Journey of a Woman (2007) and Lafangey Parindey (2010) has done a tremendous job in making a movie quite different from his style of filmmaking. Jisshu Sengupta as Rani Mukerji’s husband does a fair job. Tahir Bhasin, after his first appearance in One by Two (2014) looks more promising as the Villain of the movie.

Mardaani is filled with fast-paced storyline, wild chase, tracing hidden clues and breath-taking fight scenes, which keeps audience on the edge of their seat. Nicely depicted story with focus more on women safety issue in India.

The Bottom Line: Mardaani is one of the best from Rani Mukerji so far. The story is familiar, but has been showcased quite brilliantly. Surely worth a watch.
