Desi Kattey is the story of two kids Jay Bhanushali (Gyani), Akhil Kapur (Pali) of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh working in a gun factory. With their shooting prowess, they get offer by a gangster (Ashutosh Rana) to work for him. For fame and money, they enter crime world and makes immense.
Coincidentally, they meet Army officer Major Suryakant Rathore (Sunil Shetty), during a police case. Knowing their ability, Major Suryakant mentors them to sharpen their shooting skills with advance guns and technology to better their life. Since, both of them have different dreams, Gyani represent the country in the Olympics, while Pali chooses underworld. The fight is between the good and the bad in adverse circumstances.
Both the leads, Jay Bhanushali and Akhil Kapur lacks acting skills. They need to pull-up their socks quickly for making any mark in Bollywood movies. Sunil Shetty, being the veteran, does his job well. Both the lead actress Sasha Agha as Paridhi Rathore who loves Gyani, Tia Bajpai as Guddi who loves Pali didn’t had much to do. The only notable performance in the movie is of Ashutosh Rana as the gangster.
Anand Kumar, as Director is disappointing and could done a far better job. The story and dialogues are overdramatic. The music and songs are not exciting enough.
The Bottom Line: Desi Kattey is tiresome. Fine to be missed!
